Join us on this breathtaking adventure through Slovakia, The Tatras and Poland
Eastern Europe has a unique allure, with fairytale castles, caves, hot springs, folk architecture, the European Dead Sea, a famous Celtic town, and European wilderness.
Hospitality is fantastic here, and you can guarantee you’ll be well looked after.

Our tour begins near the city of Cologne, and you can get there one of two ways.
If you’d like to travel with a group, we’ll meet you on the morning of the first day near the LeShuttle and drive to Cologne together.
Or, if you prefer, you could travel to Cologne a few days early, relax at our hotel, and see the city before the tour starts.

On the first day, if you aren’t already in Cologne, you’ll take an early LeShuttle crossing and we’ll meet you on the other side.
We’ll make use of the efficient motorway system through Belgium and Germany to reach our first hotel in Koblenz.

Today we’ll head for the town of Würzburg. Set in northern Bavaria at the start of the Romantic Road, Würzburg is known for lavish baroque and rococo architecture. It’s also the center of Franconian wine country, with its distinctive bocksbeutel (bottles with a flattened round shape).

Day 3 will see us on the fast and efficient German Autobahns, bringing us to the Salzburger region, where we will enjoy a relaxing night’s stay.
Known as the Austrian Lake District, the Salzkamagut is full of pristine lakes and dramatic mountain ranges, with some wonderful driving roads.

The morning is ours to explore the lakeside of Traunsee. After lunch, we’ll proceed west for Bratislava, capital of Slovakia.
En route we’ll visit Devin Castle, a partially reconstructed medieval castle offering panoramic vistas over the Danube & Morava rivers, before heading to our hotel for a two-night stopover in Bratislava.

Today is a free day to explore Slovakia’s capital since the country’s independence in 1993: Bratislava.
Bratislava is a melting pot of the medieval, gothic, and baroque. With its ancient town square, Hungarian palaces, and a Renaissance castle, it’s one of the most underrated capitals of Europe. The old town is very walkable, with many museums and charming cafes.

On Day 6 we’ll visit the fairytale castle of Bojnice, where we can spend an hour or two strolling the castle grounds before we move on to the beautifully preserved medieval town of Banská Štiavnica for the evening.
Banská Štiavnica is in the middle of an immense caldera created by the collapse of an ancient volcano.

Our travels today will see us weaving our way across the Great Fatra National Park.
On the way, we’ll be passing UNESCO wooden mountain villages, castles from horror movies, wonderful lake vistas with the High Tatras in the distance, and Slovakia’s highest mountain pass.

On Day 8 we will do a circular tour around the Slovak Paradise National Park. The Slovak Paradise is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and romantic gorges in Europe, and one of the most popular among European tourists.
This day promises unforgettable views and a deeply immersive experience in one of the continent’s natural gems.

We’ll spend time touring the High Tatras National Park today, from west to east and up to the Polish border.
Highlights include a cable car ride up Lomnicky Stitt, a snow-capped mountain range peak reaching 8,642-feet with an observatory built in 1940.

Today we’ll visit the Tatras from the Polish side, stopping in the resort of Zakopane. From here we’ll travel north to Krakow, where we’ll spend two nights.
Whether it’s funiculars, cable cars or thermal baths that take your fancy, there’s something for everyone here.

A free day to enjoy the sights of Krakow.
Krakow is a wonderful historical and cultural city with a beautiful castle and massive town square to explore, as well as a thriving Jewish quarter. You could visit the thermal hot springs, stop by the local history museums, or sample some delicious Polish cuisine.

If you would like, you may visit the Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz and Birkenau. If you don’t wish to visit Auschwitz, there are plenty of other attractions en route, and a fabulous hotel to enjoy!
We’ll finish the day in northern Czechia, ready for some great driving through Bohemia on Day 13.

Here is a rare chance to tour the dramatic area of northern Bohemia. We’ll visit the ‘Bohemia Switzerland National Park’ and other outstanding landmarks, with some fantastic scenic driving.
We’ll finish the day near the German border, not far from Dresden.

Our last full day will take us west to the Rhine valley. For lunch we’ll be visiting a quaint little town near Kasel. You’ll be able to enjoy the hotel’s luxurious facilities, and we’ll have one last group meal together – a chance to share your favourite memories of our epic trip.
If you wish, you could stay here an extra night or two, and take some time to relax before you return home – contact us for details.

This morning we’ll make our way back to Calais for our channel crossings in the early evening.
If you have a long journey ahead of you in the UK, we recommend that you organise an extra night’s stay either near Calais or Folkestone.
We can advise on hotels, and book for you if you wish.
