PRE-TOUR
THE MEETING POINT
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

Today is the day to get to Folkestone to travel to Calais via the Eurotunnel. We’ll book your Eurotunnel crossing for a time of your choosing that will suit your journey in the UK.

Day 1
DAY 1
FIRST JOURNEY
~180 miles
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

Our journey begins at our hotel in Calais. Leaving the coast behind, we head south through the quiet, undulating backroads of Northern France. The afternoon sun catches the vineyards as we arrive in Reims, the spiritual home of Champagne, for our first hotel stop.

Just on the way to Reims is the Reims-Gueux old race stands which are worth a visit for the motoring nostalgia.

The Dolomites – day 2 & 3
Day 1
DAY 2
ALSACE & VOSGES
~200 miles
~210 miles of driving

Today we meander through the regional parks between Reims and the Vosges mountains. The roads become more dramatic as we approach the timber-framed charm of the Alsace region and we find ourselves surrounded in vineyards..

Our hotel is a four star spa hotel set in the hills above Colmar. You can either eat in the excellent hotel restaurant and enjoy the facilities or head into Colmar.

DAY 3
SWISS-BOUND

~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

Today we’ll be heading for our main hotel of the tour in Andermatt, where we’ll be spending four nights. Enroute we’ll pass the beautiful city of Lucerne, and stop at the Devil’s Bridge and waterfalls.

Italian Lakes – day 4 – 6
Day 1
DAY 4
THE CENTRAL PASSES
~80 miles
~260 miles, 3-4 hours driving time

We start our Andermatt stay with a loop of the Susten, Grimsel, and Furka passes. This route is the classic Swiss alpine circuit, moving from the open, sweeping curves of the Susten to the steep granite walls of the Grimsel. We finish on the Furka Pass, descending past the Rhone Glacier on the famous hairpins leading back into town.

Day 1
DAY 5
THE SOUTH AND THE TREMOLA
~65 miles
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

Today we head south toward the Ticino region. We climb the Nufenen Pass, the highest paved road in Switzerland, which offers clear views across the Bernese Alps. For the return, we take the historic St. Gotthard Pass via the Tremola. This old road is surfaced with hand-laid granite cobbles, providing a unique, tactile driving experience in a Caterham.

DAY 6
THE SAN BERNARDINO LOOP
~110 miles

On our final day in Andermatt, we head east over the San Bernardino Pass. This long, immersive drive trades jagged peaks for forested gorges and tight hairpins leading to a glacial summit. We then descend through the Italian-influenced Misox Valley and loop back via the Grisons canton—a perfect conclusion to our mountain trip.

DAY 7
THE TREK NORTH

~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

As we head northwards again we make our return journey back to Colmar. We’ll skirt the shores of the Thunsee with the backdrop of the mighty Jungjau above. It’s a day for a gentle drive back through the Swiss valleys, ending with a celebratory farewell dinner to toast a week of shared experiences.
