Scotland – pre tour
Day 1
THE DAY BEFORE
The Meeting Point
Let the adventure begin

We’ll arrange your channel tunnel crossing at a time that suits you and your journey in the UK. You can either take an early crossing on the first day of the tour, or for a more relaxed start to your holiday you can take the crossing the day/evening before and spend the evening with us in our hotel just 10 minutes drive from the terminal in Calais.

Day 1
DAY 1
Alsace
~110 miles of driving
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

We’ll be using the efficient French Autoroute system to get us efficiently to our hotel for the trip up in the hills above Colmar. Our hotel for the next 4 nights features a pool and spa for us to relax in after the following days of sightseeing, or you can take a day out to relax there too if you wish!

Alsace – day 2 & 3
Day 1
DAY 2
Vosges Mountains
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time
~180 miles of driving

Today we’ll head for the Vosges mountains, the belt of highlands that sits to the west of the Rhine in France. Some of the roads here are absolutely epic, and the views are outstanding. This will be the first of our round trips in the area, and will be sure not to disappoint.

Day 1
DAY 3
Black Forest
~110 miles of driving
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

A round trip tour of the southern region of the Black Forest today. We’ll take on a summer toboggan, grab a real Black Forest Gateaux for lunch and take in some of the best viewpoints of the area. On one of our recent trips to Switzerland, many of our clients voted this as their favourite day of the trip. That’s high praise!

Alsace – day 4 & 5
Day 1
DAY 4
Colmar
~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

Today there will be a shorter driving trip to enjoy, taking in a visit to the beautiful town of Colmar. Colmar is a charming, well-preserved medieval town in the Alsace region of France, renowned for its picturesque half-timbered houses, cobblestone streets, and canals. It’s often called the “most Alsatian city of Alsace” and is considered the capital of Alsatian wine.

DAY 5
Verdun

~300 miles, 5-6 hours driving time

We’ll be taking a scenic route back towards home today, taking in some excellent French D Roads, avoiding the toll roads as much as possible. We’ll visit the World War I memorials at Verdun, before heading to our hotel to the west of here.
