Join us on this breathtaking adventure through Slovakia, The Tatras and Poland
Eastern Europe has a unique allure, with fairytale castles, caves, hot springs, folk architecture, the European Dead Sea, a famous Celtic town, and European wilderness.
Hospitality is fantastic here, and you can guarantee you’ll be well looked after.

We’ll arrange your channel tunnel crossing at a time that suits you and your journey in the UK. You can either take an early crossing on the first day of the tour, or for a more relaxed start to your holiday you can take the crossing the day/evening before and spend the evening with us in our hotel just 10 minutes drive from the terminal in Calais.

After our tour briefing and issuing the sat-navs and radios our first day on the road will largely be about munching kilometres. We’ll be using the efficient European motorway systems to get us just east of Saarbrücken in Germany, where there will be a group meal at our hotel and a good chance to get to know your fellow travellers.

Our second day on the road will see us heading across the German region of Bavaria, with a lunch stop at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Our hotel is the Motorworld Hotel in Munich, where after closing hours you can wander the museum at your leisure in private. A fantastic atmosphere and experience!

Day 3 will see us heading for the Salzgammagut Known as the Austrian Lake District, the Salzkamagut is full of pristine lakes and dramatic mountain ranges, with some wonderful driving roads. Our day will finish just outside Slovakia’s capital city – Bratislava – where we will spend two nights.

Today is a free day to explore Slovakia’s capital since the country’s independence in 1993: Bratislava.
Bratislava is a melting pot of the medieval, gothic, and baroque. With its ancient town square, Hungarian palaces, and a Renaissance castle, it’s one of the most underrated capitals of Europe. The old town is very walkable, with many museums and charming cafes.

On Day 5 we’ll take some lovely roads north of Bratislava and visit the fairytale castle of Bojnice, where we can spend an hour or two strolling the castle grounds and getting a bite for lunch.
After, our scenic route will take us around the Mala Fatra National Park & Choč Mountains to the historic town of Martin, a picturesque city renowned as the historic center of Slovak national culture and identity, nestled between the two mountain ranges.

Our drive today will focus on three central Slovakian National Parks. There are some fantastic roads to drive here, and the scenery is nothing short of spectacular. We’ll finish our day driving to the Tatra mountains where we’ll finish the day at our 5-star lakeside hotel where we’ll be spending a couple of nights.

Today is a chance to explore the Slovakian side of the Tatra Mountains. Either take a scenic drive, head up the Kasprowy Wierch Cable Car to nearly 2000m above sea level or visit some of the lovely towns in the area.
Alternatively you could make use of the time at our wonderful hotel, enjoying the spa and pool facilities and grabbing some R&R.

Today we’ll be driving around the Tatras into Poland, heading towards Oświęcim – infamously known for the Nazi concentration camps here. We’ll be organising a private tour for those who would like to visit the sites of Auschwitz and Birkenau.
If you would prefer not to, you could head straight to Krakow via Zakopane – a Polish ski resort town on the other side of the Tatras – instead. We’ll finish the day at our hotel just outside Krakow, where we’ll spend two nights.

A free day to enjoy the sights of Krakow.
Krakow is a wonderful historical and cultural city with a beautiful castle and massive town square to explore, as well as a thriving Jewish quarter. You could visit the thermal hot springs, stop by the local history museums, or sample some delicious Polish cuisine.

Driving west today, we’ll be heading for the highlands that hug the Czech-Polish border. The border runs along the ridge of the Czantoria and Stożek massifs in the Silesian Mountains, part of the larger Carpathian mountain range. We’ll finish the day at our hotel located in the center of Kudowa Zdrój, a charming spa town nestled at the foot of the Stołowe Mountains within the Sudetes Mountain Range in Poland.

Heading further west and skirting the dramatic border still, we’ll start the day viewing the tremendous Adrspach rocks – an extraordinary labyrinth of towering, ancient sandstone formation, sculpted by millions of years of erosion into a “rock city” of unique spires, gorges, and narrow passageways.Afterwards we’ll be driving through the ‘Czech Switzerland National Park’. Known for its dramatic sandstone rock formations, deep gorges and unusual landscapes, this is epic driving territory with fantastic views in a true wilderness. Our hotel for two nights is just over the border in Germany, not far from Dresden.

Today is the last of our rest days on this trip, and a great chance to grab some time out of the car (only if you wish) before we head across Germany on the homebound trip.
The choices today are relaxation, a driving loop, or visiting either Dresden (a short train ride) or Prague (a longer one).

Today’s route will mostly make use of the efficient German Autobahn network, with some scenic stops and a detour here and there. It’s mostly about making progress towards home. We’ll spend the night in Erfurt, a beautifully preserved medieval German city, known as the “city of towers”.

Our last full day will take us west to the Rhine valley. Our last horel is located in a quiet, green and picturesque countryside setting, conveniently situated between Cologne and Bonn. You’ll be able to enjoy the hotel’s luxurious facilities, and we’ll have one last group meal together – a chance to share your favourite memories of our epic trip.
If you wish, you could stay here an extra night or two, and take some time to relax before you return home – contact us for details.

This morning we’ll make our way back to Calais for our channel crossings in the afternoon.
If you have a long journey ahead of you in the UK, we recommend that you organise an extra night’s stay either near Calais or Folkestone. We can advise on hotels, and book for you if you wish.
